Activision has more than 3,000 devs working on the Call of Duty games
Activision’s studios has more than 3,000 developers working on the Call of Duty series. President Rob Kostich said the beloved action franchise is “constantly in the planning stages”. He also stated that they have game plans in the pipeline until the end of the next decade.
When asked about the battle setting choices, Kostich said that weapons played a key role in determining the setting. Areas such as World War II have less flexibility due to the need to maintain realism, he said.
More modern and futuristic environments also pave the way for new and experimental weapons. Series like Black Ops, on the other hand, provide more freedom by focusing on covert events.
After this statement from Activision, it is possible to say that new productions for the Modern Warfare and Black Ops series will be coming in five years. Let us remind you that the next game in the series, Modern Warfare 3, will be released in November.
Modern Warfare 3 will include open warfare missions in some of its missions. It will also have all 16 maps in Modern Warfare 2, which was released in 2009. This shows that the company wants to catch the old players.
